The Tampa Bay Area

 

Living in the Tampa Bay Florida Area is a fabulous place to enjoy a variety of community activities and events year round due to the endless beautiful weather.

The Tampa Bay Area encompasses three larger cities in two counties as well as many beach cities and communities.  Clearwater, St. Petersburg and the beaches are located in Pinellas County.  Tampa is the largest city in the area and it is located in Hillsborough County.  This combined metropolitan area offers a multitude of Businesses, Educational Institutions, Cultural Events, Championship Level, Professional, Sporting Teams, Theme Parks and some of the best ranked beaches and fishing in the World!

Educational Institutions range from larger universities to smaller colleges.  The University of South Florida has two campuses with the main campus located in Tampa and an extension in St. Petersburg.  Others include St. Petersburg College, Stetson School of Law, PHCC - Pasco - Hernando Community College.

Cultural Events such as plays, musical programs and comedy are held at The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and the St. Pete Times Forum, located in Tampa, Ruth Eckerd Hall located in Clearwater, and Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.

beaches-pageTampa Bay is home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2002 Super Bowl Champions; the Tampa Bay Lighting, 2003 - 2004 Stanley Cup Champions; and the Tampa Bay Rays, 2008 Major League Baseball American League Champions.   Tampa hosted the Super Bowl in 2001 and will host the 2009 Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium.  St. Petersburg hosted the 2008 World Series at Tropicana Field featuring the Tampa Bay Rays, and annually Tampa hosts the Outback Bowl Series to name a few.

Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Lowery Park Zoo, and Big Cat Rescue are also in Tampa.   Orlando is located 45 miles from Tampa, home of Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Epcot Center and Sea World.

The areas beaches have been ranked the best in the world including Caledesi Island, Fort Desoto, St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach.  Offering Parasailing, wave runner rentals, boat tours, fishing charters and beachside dining on fresh Florida seafood.
